Vintage Paper Mache Alebrije Sculpture – Fantastical Winged Lizard Folk Art

A wonderfully strange and highly detailed vintage Mexican alebrije depicting a fantastical winged lizard-like creature with an almost insectoid silhouette. The sculpture is covered from head to toe in intricate hand-painted patterns, combining vivid green, red, yellow, orange, blue, cream, and black. Its enormous striped antennae, curling tongue, spread wings, elongated feet, and surreal proportions give it exactly the eccentric character that makes traditional alebrije folk art so collectible.
