Vintage Chalkware Kewpie Figurine – Byron Molds Angel with Crochet Dress
Bright yellow hair, enormous sideways eyes, and tiny golden wings give this Byron Molds Kewpie an expression that is equal parts sweet and strange. The solid chalkware-style figure comes with a removable pink and white crocheted dress, adding a wonderfully homemade touch to its already curious character.
Condition
Good vintage condition with scattered surface marks, scuffs, discoloration, and irregularities in the hand-painted finish. The facial painting has a distinctly handmade appearance. Arms, legs, and head are stationary and do not move. Please review all photos closely for condition.

Display this peculiar little angel dressed or undressed among vintage dolls, handmade folk art, carnival curiosities, and other slightly unsettling childhood relics. The bright coloring and oversized eyes give it plenty of presence despite its petite scale.
Additional Notes
Byron Molds produced commercial molds for home and studio craft use rather than manufacturing finished figurines. This piece was cast from a Byron design and individually painted by its original maker, giving it a one-of-a-kind finish.
The figure is solid and stationary, with molded arms, legs, head, and angel wings. The crocheted dress is removable and may have been handmade specifically for the doll.
All items are vintage and one-of-a-kind. Minor wear is part of their story.
A unique find and purr-fectly peculiar.
