Vintage Bisque Ceramic Kewpie Doll – Posable Figure with Pink Lace Dress
Vintage Bisque Ceramic Kewpie Doll – Posable Figure with Pink Lace Dress
A wonderfully peculiar ceramic Kewpie-style doll with enormous side-glancing blue eyes, dimpled cheeks, an orange topknot, and classic starfish-shaped hands. Surprisingly substantial for its petite size, the doll features a movable head, arms, and legs and comes dressed in a pink frock layered with aged cream lace.
Condition
Good vintage condition with surface marks, discoloration, and minor wear to the painted details. The ceramic head, arms, and legs remain movable. The dress shows fading, wrinkles, and age-related yellowing to the lace. No obvious maker’s mark was found. Please review all photos closely for condition.

Painted bisque or matte-finished ceramic with fabric and lace clothing

Styling Notes
A delightfully uncanny addition to a collection of vintage dolls, childhood curiosities, or kitschy ceramic figures. The five movable joints allow the doll to be displayed standing, seated, or with its head turned into an especially mischievous pose.
Additional Notes
The doll has five movable points: a turning head, two rotating arms, and two rotating legs. The joints are likely connected internally with elastic or cord, so they should be repositioned gently.
Although clearly inspired by Rose O’Neill’s Kewpie characters, the absence of a maker’s mark means its manufacturer and official licensing cannot be confirmed.
All items are vintage and one-of-a-kind. Minor wear is part of their story.
A unique find and purr-fectly peculiar.
