Vintage 1976 Powers of Mind Book – Adam Smith Psychology & New Age Paperback
Vintage 1976 Powers of Mind Book – Adam Smith Psychology & New Age Paperback
A distinctly 1970s exploration of the era’s fascination with consciousness, psychology, mysticism, and alternative ways of thinking. Powers of Mind by Adam Smith examines everything from altered states and meditation to biofeedback, yoga, the I Ching, LSD, Sufism, EST, Arica, and other movements that shaped the decade’s human-potential culture. The wonderfully retro metallic-style cover typography makes this copy especially display-worthy.

Styling Notes
A great shelf piece for a collection leaning into 1970s counterculture, consciousness studies, New Age thought, psychology, or occult and metaphysical literature. The worn turquoise-and-silver cover has exactly the kind of strange vintage paperback aesthetic that looks at home among crystals, oddities, and esoteric books.
Additional Notes
The contents offer a fascinating snapshot of the 1970s consciousness movement, with discussions of biofeedback, yoga, LSD, the I Ching, Sufism, EST, Arica, altered perception, and other then-emerging approaches to the mind.
A unique find and purr-fectly peculiar
