Antique Mother of Pearl Dip Pen – Remex N.Y. Nib Ornate Metal Holder
Antique Mother of Pearl Dip Pen – Remex N.Y. Nib Ornate Metal Holder
An elegant antique dip pen featuring a long, luminous mother-of-pearl handle fitted with an ornate metal holder and REMEX N.Y. nib. Remex is associated with Waterman as an early lower-priced pen line, adding an interesting piece of American writing history to an already beautiful desk accessory.
Condition
Good antique condition with age-related wear throughout. There is a small chip along one side of the mother-of-pearl handle, but the handle remains intact and displays beautifully. The metal components show expected patina, tarnish, and surface wear consistent with age. Please reference photos closely for condition.
Origin
Nib marked REMEX N.Y. Remex was a New York pen brand associated with Waterman. Exact maker of the mother-of-pearl holder is unknown.
Styling Notes
A beautiful addition to an antique writing collection, vanity or writing desk, or curiosity cabinet. Despite the small chip, the long mother-of-pearl handle remains especially striking on display alongside antique books, inkwells, and other Victorian desk accessories.
Additional Notes
Sold as a collectible antique writing instrument and display piece. Functionality with ink has not been tested.
All items are vintage and one-of-a-kind. Minor wear is part of their story.
A unique find and purr-fectly peculiar.
